Many Happy Returns at Sanford House

Friday 1st June was a special day for Sanford House care home in East Dereham, as we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the opening of our home.Doors opened to the home in 1998 and our home later became a member of the Caring Home Group family in 2001.The day began with a tombola raising money for the residents’ fund, and also cakes and flower stalls. We were delighted to be joined by the Mayor of Dereham, Hilary Bushell, who made an informal visit and spend time chatting with our residents.For lunch, we took advantage of the lovely weather and had a barbecue in the courtyard, for which we were joined by many family members and friends.There was of course a birthday cake, and our Administrator, Michael gave the home a present of a scrabble-style display, created by his wife Becky, of all the things which makes Sanford House an excellent home.Entertainment in the afternoon was provided by local singer Derek Watts, singing favourite songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. This was followed by a delicious strawberry cream tea.The day was enjoyed by all of us.
