Jean receives award for 30 years of fundraising for Cancer Research UK

Laverstock Care Centre was proud to have a resident presented with an award for thirty years of fundraising for Cancer Research UK. The recipient, Jean Fryer received a certificate and a brooch of appreciation, presented by Lady Benson who has been President of the charity since it was formed sixty six years ago. The committee has helped raise one and a half million pounds so far and intends to continue its good work.

“It’s fantastic that Jean has been raising money for Cancer Research UK for so long and we were able to celebrate this at Laverstock,” said Helen Pessell, Home Manager; “It was lovely to have Lady Benson, the Chair and Vice Chair of the charity visit and Jean really appreciated them coming. We all enjoyed the tea and coffee afterwards and hearing all about Jean’s fundraising experiences.”

Jean enjoyed having a celebratory photograph of the occasion accompanied by Lady Benson, Yvonne Mills, Chair and Sue Gallagher, Vice Chair of Cancer Research UK. A few close friends joined Jean for this wonderful occasion and all enjoyed tea, coffee and talked about the great work she has done.
