Elsie celebrates 102nd birthday at Guysfield

At Guysfield care home in Letchworth, we are absolutely delighted that we got to celebrate another birthday with Elsie this year when she turned 102.  Elsie celebrated her birthday on the 18th April with family, friends and members of our team.

Pawel Michalewich, Home Manager, said: “Everyone at Guysfield wishes Elsie a very happy birthday. She is a fantastic lady and it was an honour to celebrate her big day with her”.

The residents all got involved and made birthday cards for Elsie, which looked beautiful.  Elsie was overjoyed to receive so much attention and birthday well wishes. We decorated with balloons and banners and Karen our cook made a wonderful cake for all of the residents to enjoy.

Elsie with the help of her son blew the candles out on her cake and made a traditional birthday wish. All of the residents sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Elsie and when they finished there was a big cheer and applause.

At Guysfield care home we take great pride in celebrating birthday milestones for our residents and aim to make their day as special for them as possible.

Guysfield provides residential care in a beautifully converted Country House for up to 49 elderly people in the conservation village of Willian.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
