Collage fun at The Orchard

At The Orchard Nursing Home in St Albans our residents created collages from 'Old People’s Friend's' magazines, as they hold a lot of images and information that they enjoy.

Making a collage provides the opportunity to our residents to make choices, express preferences and feelings, and create a finished piece of art. The art provides a positive and meaningful way to communicate how they are feeling when words are not readily available.

We had chosen the theme of spring but it could be anything at all and some of the ladies just chose pictures that made them happy. Our ladies created some lovely collages to hang on their walls of their favourite animals, flowers and landscapes. Seeing them hanging provides a real sense of pride.
