Christmas crafts at Home of Compassion

What have you been up to on the run up to Christmas?  Well, we at the Home of Compassion have been keeping busy, busy, busy on the run up to Christmas and that means a packed schedule of seasonal activities.

The residents at the Home of Compassion are home with nursing in Thames Ditton have been kept occupied making and decorating crunchy Christmas gingerbread and even their very own sparkling Christmas baubles!  Let’s not discuss how messy things got.  The fun does not stop there, and in between the parties and festivities we have also made a selection of Christmas cards and pictures which are displayed throughout our home.

Having a dedicated large activities room for all our not-so-clean projects with a fully integrated oven makes it easy to push the boundaries on what our residents can achieve if the item is presented in manageable sections.  We like to concentrate on what folk are able to achieve, rather than consider what they are no longer able to do.  This in turn increases confidence and produces a real sense of achievement, which is no bad thing in our book.

Home of Compassion is dedicated to providing the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 71 elderly residents. The luxurious care home is set in delightful surroundings in the heart of Thames Ditton, with beautiful views over the river.
