Caring Homes Group in running for top Organisational Culture Award

21st September 2016
Caring Homes group are delighted to announce that we have been recognised and shortlisted in no less than three categories of the 'Organisational Culture Excellence Awards'.The OC Excellence Awards 2016 recognise powerful stories of organisational culture enabling performance; underpinning identity; shaping transformation; enabling learning; and hosting innovation.Caring Homes Group are finalists in three categories,
  • ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE EXCELLENCE AWARD: CHAMPION (CHG Learning & Development Team - Future Leaders Programme)
  • ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE EXCELLENCE AWARD: DIVERSITY & INCLUSION (eCademy)
  • ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE EXCELLENCE AWARD: TECHNOLOGY (eCademy)
Liz Willis, Head of Learning and Development said: “We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for these three categories alongside other well known, high profile organisations. To be recognised as excelling in our work developing and building upon our culture is extremely important to us and confirmation that we are on track to ensure a strong sustainable organisation built upon a firm structure, values and culture.”Since the development and launch of a number of new training initiatives we have seen our colleagues truly embrace a new way of working. Training plans are tailored to individuals' job roles. Every colleague has a clear development plan which is specific to their individual goals. They also receive alerts and reminders to help them keep on top of their mandatory training requirements - this gives them ownership and control over their own learning. They know what to expect and what they need to do in order to keep their competencies up to date - this allows them more time to focus on our core priority of providing great care and support.Importantly for Caring Homes Group, colleagues from across the business have bought into this new approach to training and it's been incredibly well received at all levels. Our managers have been able to take a more active role in managing the training needs and performance of their teams, which has reduced administration through easier access to reports. It means training records can be accessed locally, rather than a central training team having complete ownership. It was always our desire to introduce a training tool that enables our colleagues to track, monitor and engage with their training needs, whilst ensuring Caring Homes Group remains compliant in core areas. We are proud that we have been able to minimise risk and introduce a new culture to our learning environment, ensuring we continue to be inclusive yet responsive.Caring Homes Group are in the running for these awards alongside organisations such as Health Education England, Virgin Media. PepsiCo, Amnesty International and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.Winners of the Organisational Culture Awards will be recognised at the Awards Night on 16th November 2016 at the Tower Bridge Hotel in London.
