Caring Homes invites you to nominate someone exceptional you want to thank and recognise for a Caring Superstars Award.

Helping people is the most rewarding part of our roles and extraordinary homes don't stay extraordinary on their own. We are only able to provide excellent standards of care to so many people thanks to our dedicated and talented teams.

Nominations across 12 categories are welcomed from colleagues, residents, relatives and friends. There will be a category winner from each division and then one overall Caring Homes Superstar from each category.

Closing date for award nominations is July 30th.

Award Categories

Superstar Carer

Recognises the vital role of the care assistant in providing quality, person-centred care.

Superstar Nurse

This award will be made to a registered nurse who has made long term care their area of professional specialisation. In addition to maintaining training and demonstrating outstanding clinical and managerial qualities, the winner will have demonstrated a high level of dedication the residents they care for

Superstar Care team

This award will be presented to the team who are able to best demonstrate a shared vision and agreed goals, working together as one-team. The team should have a leader whose role is known and accepted and who takes personal responsibility for their tasks. Teams should have an excellent communication process and each member’s skills should be recognised within the team. The winning team will demonstrating a commitment to dignity and respect for residents and colleagues.

Superstar Home Manager

This award will be made to an exceptional care home manager. They will be demonstrate a high level of expertise in managing all aspects of the home to the benefit of residents, colleagues and their local community.

Dementia Care Superstar

This award will be made to an exceptional care home which can convincingly demonstrate that it has put dignity and respect for its residents andcolleagues at the very heart of all it does. This emphasis has resulted in tangible benefits for residents, relatives and the team alike.

Wellbeing Superstar

This award will recognise creativity, commitment and achievement in the provision of meaningful activity and wellbeing programmes.

Superstar Chef

Presented to the chef or kitchen manager who demonstrates an understanding of the nutritional needs of the residents evidence to be shown of innovative menus that cater for diverse needs whilst delivering an enjoyable eating experience

Garden Superstar

This award will recognise the ability of those who maintain the gardens using and developing the features that are already there. It will have a character that can be accessed and enjoyed by all who live and work within its grounds and buildings. It will be a garden that looks good all year round.

Superstar Site Maintenance Officer (SMO)

This award will recognise the SMO who performs extra duties beyond those normally assigned,lending a hand when needed to other colleagues or residents/individuals and relatives. Someone who may volunteer for special projects or who develops new ways of working that reduce waste or stretch resources.

Superstar Newcomer

This award will be made to a person working in care, who is new to the sector over the past 24 months, and who is already delivering the very best standard of care. An individual who excels in their personal and team roles, exhibits enthusiasm, professionalism, confidence and a commitment to their on-going career development.

Superstar Housekeeper

Running the housekeeping services of a care home is vital for the well-being of residents and staff and has been increasingly important during the pandemic. This award will be made to an outstanding housekeeper who can demonstrate the passion and commitment needed to make a real difference.

Support Function/Head Office Superstar

This award will be presented to a member of the support function teams or wider support staff working remotely who has demonstrated a significant contribution to the overall provision of effective and efficient service to their colleagues and homes/services they support.

Once you have chosen the category which you wish to nominate someone for and read the criteria, please ask the Home Manager or colleague for a form or click below to complete your online nomination.

There will be one winner in each of the 12 categories per division then one overall winner to be announced in September.
