Bake Off returns to Galsworthy

Some residents at Galsworthy House in Kingston-upon-Thames gathered in the dining room for some serious baking.

On the run up to Easter we thought it appropriate to get together and make a Simnel cake. This has become a bit of a tradition at Galsworthy House, being the third year of making this delicious cake.

The residents settled down to mix together the ingredients with staff members joining in the fun. We made sure the mixture was thoroughly blended before we spooned half of the cake mixture into the cake tin and smoothed the surface. We then added a circle of the almond paste to the top of the mixture before spooning the rest of the cake mix in. The chefs put the cake in the oven for us, be we are looking forward to decorating it and adding a layer of marzipan.

We are looking forward to enjoying our hard work on Easter Sunday with a cup of tea or coffee!
