Annual Summer Fete at Laverstock Care Centre

Laverstock Care Centre recently held our annual Summer Fete on Saturday 5th August and invited residents, relatives, friends and members of our local community to come and join us for an afternoon of fun, activities and fabulous food.

We had lots of activities for our guests including a refreshment stand, a raffle, tombola and our sweet shop was open. We also had a couple of stalls of items for sale open as well.

Residents throughout the home joined us with numerous family members and friends to take part and enjoy some tea and cake in the sunshine.

As well as being a great social occasion, we also used our fete as an opportunity to raise money for our residents fund and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Helen Pessell, Home Manager said,

“At Laverstock Care Centre, we like to get involved with our local community and it was a great opportunity to hold our annual fete for our residents and our guests whilst also supporting a great cause. Alzheimer’s Society is a community of supporters, volunteers and staff passionate about making a difference to people’s lives and is a charity very close to our hearts here, as some of our residents are living with dementia.”

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported us. It was such a fun day for everyone and great to see everyone enjoying themselves.”

Laverstock Care Centre is a modern purpose built care home situated in the medieval cathedral City of Salisbury offering residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 80 elderly residents.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
