Afternoon Tea with the local community

Riverside Place Care Home welcomed local church groups into their home yesterday to enjoy an afternoon tea, which was a fantastic opportunity for the community to see the home, many for the first time.

Reverend Catherine from Lee Side Church, Mary Salter from Christchurch Ware and Sylvia Hovel came along with a number of friends from the churches to enjoy the afternoon tea and meet some of the residents. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to have a chat and get to know each other, bringing the community together.

The lovely cakes and refreshments were made by the hospitality team, which looked and tasted delicious. Following the success of this afternoon tea event there are plans to organise further events and a ‘Friends of Riverside’ community group.

The residents can’t wait to attend the next event with them commenting…

“What a lovely afternoon…”

“I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to the visitors.”
