Welcome to Marchglen Care Centre
Alloa, Clackmannanshire
Our home is free from Coronavirus
Located in between the villages of Fishcross and Tillycoultry, Marchglen Care Centre is a purpose-built home for up to 36 residents across four houses. Each home provides different types of care and support including physical disabilities, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours in both young adults and elderly.
We're open for safe admissions, managing visits and routinely testing everyone. New residents benefit from a personalised wellbeing plan during their initial 14 days. If you’re a little unsure of what type of care is needed, or would like to move in as a couple, we’re happy to help with the details.

Keeping things personal
At Marchglen Care Centre
The wonderful surroundings at Marchglen Care Centre are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents. We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.
We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.
Every need catered for
Mealtimes are an important part of daily life at Marchglen Care Centre. We know eating well and the social experience of dining are key to health and wellbeing. Our chefs select a different menu each day, creating lots of home-cooked dishes with fresh ingredients to choose from. Using their in-depth knowledge of nutrition, they cater for any special diets and needs.
Keep doing what you love
At Marchglen Care Centre, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy – from the craft room to the hair salon, our packed schedule of events and activities, to picnics in the stunning grounds. And if residents prefer to spend one-on-one time with a member of the team, they can read the paper, pop to the shops or have a pint in the local pub. We have strong connections with the Alloa community, many of our residents invite them to join in our activities or even run their own here.

Book a respite stay for peace of mind
Over four million older people in the UK say they feel lonely and lack the friendship and support which we all need. Our respite and permanent stays offer the chance to see some new faces and try out some new things with as much or as little support as you need.
During this unprecedented time, many residents have chosen us for peace of mind so they feel safe in the knowledge that care and support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week should they need it, as well as staying connected. Whether you're looking for permanent care or a respite stay, ask us about our latest availability in our homes and the extra things we are doing to keep our residents, families and teams safe.
Marek Tarnawski
As the Home Manager of Marchglen, I lead a professional team in providing the highest standards of nursing care for up to 36 residents.
My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives, and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is improving lives by supporting residents and their families. Every resident we care for has a history and a story to tell, and learning about their lives is a wonderful privilege. Supporting and developing the team around me is also very important to me, as this enhances our residents’ lives and drives outstanding care.
I feel that the Caring Homes philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision, and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.
