Our commitment to care

At Forth Bay we have an excellent local reputation and we strive to maintain a friendly, happy atmosphere. Our highly trained care team and dedicated Health and Welbeing Coordinator works with each individual we care for, along with their loved ones, to create individual care plans with the aim of enabling residents to get the very most from life.

Our home offers a full range of nursing and dementia care support, including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care, as well as long-term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms and to really make them their own.

Why choose Forth Bay?

Every area in Forth Bay is fully equipped to meet the care needs of our residents. Our dementia unit has been designed to ensure that residents are able to move freely and safely, with bedrooms and communal areas appropriately laid out and clearly signposted to minimise confusion or disorientation.

Living in My World

Every team member receives our unique ‘Living in My World’ dementia training which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.

Our ‘Food in My World’ training, also accredited by City and Guilds provides our hospitality team and chefs with the skills and knowledge to stimulate senses and increase creativity in the cooking and presentation of food. This can provide a much improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and or dysphagia.

Visiting us

Forth Bay operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at the times that are most convenient for them.

As the Home Manager at Forth Bay, I have a qualified nursing background and I lead my professional care team in providing the highest standards of personalised care, designed to meet the unique needs of each person we support. This enables our care team to build on the excellent reputation we have earned for high quality care provision.

As part of the highly reputable Caring Homes Group, Forth Bay benefits from a robust approach to clinical governance. Our dedicated care services team monitors and regularly inspects every home to the national standards set out by the Care Inspectorate, with whom we are fully registered.

All of our residents benefit from our wealth of expertise, experience and close relationship with our local GP’s, physiotherapist and health and social care organisations.

Manager's Profile

I joined Forth Bay as a newly qualified Staff Nurse in 2001 and took on a number of senior roles, including Charge Nurse in 2003 and Deputy Manager in 2006, before eventually becoming the Home Manager.

This in-depth knowledge of the home helped me prepare for my role as Home Manager and I am working hard to ensure that those in my care continue to lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. I strive to give our residents the care and lifestyle they wish to have, and endeavour to involve them in every aspect of their care.

As well as spending time with residents and making sure that they are comfortable, safe and happy, I see it as an important part of my role to act as a mentor to my Care Team. I firmly believe that a happy, fulfilled and motivated Team will be able to deliver consistently high standards of care.

I enjoy a range of hobbies outside of work, including arts and crafts. Having lived in the region for over 30 years, I love nothing more than taking in the picturesque local scenery whilst walking my beloved dog.
