I am delighted to be Home Manager at East Hill House, a home where I had my first job as a teenager when my grandmother was Home Manager here.
There is a fantastic, professional and compassionate team working here delivering the highest standards of residential and specialist dementia care for the 32 elderly residents of this grand Hampshire home. We work closely together and are proud of the wonderful family feel people comment upon after spending time at our home.
Having spent time working in many areas of East Hill House, I bring a deep understanding of the way the home runs to my role. I take my responsibilities very seriously and strive to maintain a safe and happy environment, promote the highest standard of care and make a positive difference to all of our residents’ lives.
Prior to becoming Home Manager, I was Deputy Manager and Wellbeing Co-ordinator, a role in which I was a finalist in the prestigious National Care Awards for two consecutive years. There is an exciting and full programme of activities and events run here designed around our residents.
I am passionate about providing the best care for people living with dementia and have forged strong links between East Hill House and the Hampshire dementia support groups as well as our local stakeholders. Many of the support groups meet here regularly and we host an annual dementia festival for East Hampshire Council as well as being founders of Dementia Friendly Liss.
East Hill House has been such a big part of my life and I am delighted to continue the good work we do here, and to keep delivering the best possible care for our residents. I will be working closely with our sister home, Blenheim Court, which is also in Liss with our families sharing activities and social events to benefit us all.
I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives and understands the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.
I have befitted from the proactive support and training provided by Caring Homes, which offers great opportunities for people to progress within the company.
Away from East Hill House, my life is filled with my family and I have two children. Having grown up in the village of Liss I spend any free time I may have working in the community raising awareness of dementia.
