Why choose Coppice Lea?

Our care is tailored to meet the specific needs of each resident, with a full range of residential and nursing care support – including trial stays, short-stay care and convalescent care. Originally built as a family home in the 1880s, Coppice Lea has been carefully converted to now provide the very highest standards of care while retaining a number of period features.

Our commitment to care

At Coppice Lea we have a highly skilled and passionate Care Team. As the Home Manager, I have a qualified nursing background and strive to lead my professional team in providing the highest standards of person-centred care.

Our residential care is ideal for older people who are mostly able to look after their own daily needs without assistance but who may occasionally require additional support. Coppice Lea is also able to provide support for younger people with a physical disability.

We work to the nationally accredited Gold Standard Framework in palliative care at Coppice Lea, ensuring the very highest standard of care during a person’s last days. This enables residents to remain in their care home, rather than having to relocate to a hospital or a hospice at such a difficult time.

How we ensure the wellbeing of our residents

At Coppice Lea, our dedicated Care Team work hard to always ensure residents’ needs are being met. Bedrooms and communal areas are finished to high standards and the same attention to detail extends outside to our well-maintained gardens and grounds, which are particularly popular with residents during the warmer months.

The local area

We are very close to London, with a hugely diverse range of attractions nearby and a great blend of historic villages and vibrant towns all around us. Alongside the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the county is known for a number of fantastic places to visit – including Hampton Court Palace, Polesden Lacey, Kew Gardens and Loseley Park.

At Coppice Lea we work to the nationally accredited Gold Standard Framework in palliative care, we are fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Manager's Profile

I am a Nurse by profession working in general nursing, cardio vascular and as a midwife in a number of hospitals. In 2006 I moved into the care sector, working in nursing homes gradually working my way up the ladder as a Senior Nurse, to a Clinical Lead and then as a Deputy Manager at Coppice Lea.

I am really happy to have been offered the Home Manager role at Coppice Lea Nursing Home. Taking care of people is extremely important to me. I lead my compassionate Care Team in delivering the highest level of residential and nursing care for up to 51 elderly residents. I ensure that the home maintains a stimulating and encouraging environment for our residents, whilst supporting all of our colleagues to provide expert quality care. I really enjoy being a Home Manager, caring for people and sharing knowledge with my valued colleagues.

Merstham is a beautiful village which I am very proud to live and work in. Building local community contacts for our residents, ensuring they remain part of our local community is extremely important but also provides me with the opportunity to enjoy the village.

I feel that the Caring Homes philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision, and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.
