Zoolab visit Ferfoot

Our residents and staff are really pleased to have Zoolab visit the home on a regular basis. Zoolab identifies itself as the UK’s number 1 animal handling experience, offering residents the chance to hold a variety of animals, including chameleons and rats!

The purpose of Zoolab is to bring people closer to nature, and stimulate an interest in science, nature and learning. All the residents at Ferfoot enjoy regular visits from the Zoolab team and the opportunity to hold some unusual creatures.

“This is a great opportunity for our residents to do something a little ‘different’ and we appreciate the Zoolab team coming to Ferfoot” says Nicki Stone, Home Manager: “Mental wellbeing and stimulation is of the upmost importance to us at Ferfoot, particularly for our residents with dementia. Handling a variety of creatures is a great, interesting and interactive sensory experience for those living here, and the differences in the touch and feeling of the animals is a fantastic, tactile experience.”
