What matters to you this winter?

Do you care for a loved one? Do you find yourself snowed under with the extra demands of the festive season?

Caring for a loved one can be all-consuming, leaving little time for the rigours of Christmas planning and hosting. If you need to take some time away from your everyday caring role this winter respite care at a reputable care home is a reassuring option.

Short stays

Our teams are dedicated to providing dignified and respectful care. We understand how difficult it can be for families or friends to take a break from providing ongoing care to accomplish all those essential Christmas jobs. Whether you need time to finalise gift buying and wrapping or a complete break to focus on yourself and other family members, we can help. Short stays can be arranged for a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks. We are happy to provide a bespoke service to match residents’ lifestyle aspirations and healthcare needs.

Peace of mind

Respite care offers family carers the opportunity to prepare for Christmas or allows them to spend some time away over the festive season. Our care is given with warmth and respect, by professionals who take time to get to know residents and help them enjoy their stay with us as fully as they can. You’ll have peace of mind, knowing your elderly relative is in safe hands, with specialist care in lovely surroundings.

What’s included

  • Full personalised assessment of care needs
  • Individual care plan delivered by trained staff
  • A choice of activities and outings to enjoy
  • All meals: nutritious, delicious and freshly prepared by our chefs

Season’s Greetings

Many of our short stay residents return regularly, appreciating the well-managed and friendly home from home atmosphere. There’s a full programme of Christmas-themed events and activities to look forward to and participate in too, offering stimulation and the opportunity to make new friends.

Our usual programme runs for several weeks and includes favourites such as Christmas jumper day, making decorations and cards, pudding stirring, carol singing, a panto trip, party games and quizzes plus a visit from a local entertainer – as well as our traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

We also provide convalescent care, to help people who need to recuperate after a hospital stay and to support them until they are well enough to return home.

If you would like to find out more about our short stay breaks or availability at our homes, contact us now on Freephone 0808 223 4571 or email us at: enquiries@caringhomes.org to find out how we may help you.
