Welcome to our Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator at HOC

26th April 2019

Charlee has joined us at the Home of Compassion as our dedicated Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator; which means amongst other things, she will be the driving force behind our new and exciting activities programme. She comes from a Secondary School background and has been teaching science for teenage boys for many years; so she is used to a demanding audience.

As an example of her early endeavours our activity room has been brightened up by exhibiting some of the artistic achievements by our residents. We have been experimenting with colour therapy in which we have picked the colours of spring flowers, even though the weather has been decidedly wintery of late. Also on display are the Easter Egg templates we decorated and our residents seem very impressed indeed with their handiwork.

A selection of clubs are in their infancy and hits so far include our cooking club, which in no way steals the limelight our Baking Club. The domino tournament is getting folk quite hot under the collar and a casino club is about to be launched.

Alongside cultural visits to Tate Britain, a reading club and assortment of arts and crafts activities, we keep the usual exhausting task of keep fit and tricky pattern challenge in the knitting club.

If you ever pop in to the Home of Compassion, be sure to look at Charlee and see her in action.

Home of Compassion is dedicated to providing the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 71 elderly residents. The luxurious care home is set in delightful surroundings in the heart of Thames Ditton, with beautiful views over the river.
