Walstead Place hold another successful Summer Fete

Walstead Place held its annual Summer Fete on Saturday 25 July, opening the home to residents’ family and friends, as well as the local people of Haywards Heath.

There was a fantastic response from the community, with over 150 people attending the event – which has now been running for over 15 years. It was also the ideal opportunity for one resident, Rosemary, celebrate her 89th birthday!

Music was provided by both the local Scaynes Hill Choir (pictured above), and by Harpist Margaret Watson – a regular visitor to Walstead Place.

Walstead Place received a very generous donation of £500 from the relative of a former resident, and a further £500 was raised on the day with proceeds from the raffle, cake sale and games.

Games included mini golf, hoopla, tombola and various guessing the name/weight competitions.

Walstead would like to thank all the local businesses, including Masters & Sons and local hairdresser Elaine Buck, for their generous donations of prizes for the raffle.

All of the money raised will go towards the Walstead Place Residents’ Fund, and the residents are currently saving for a new beach hut and summer house.

Walstead Place provides Residential and Nursing care in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, in the beautiful hamlet of Walstead. Find out more about Walstead Place here.
