Tony’s tank diorama

Magna Care Centre resident Tony Howard has always been interested in tanks and WW2 memorabilia, so last May we went with Tony on an outing to Bovington Tank Museum which he loved and gained inspiration from.

Following the visit he bought himself a model tank online and shortly after this he joined a diorama group. This is a group of like minded people who make a realistic ‘scene’ around the tanks etc.

All this encouraged Tony to make his own models and “dioramas”. He has made two so far and is about to start another. Tony uses a base board, model paints, chippings, rocks, small twigs etc or as he said “any old rubbish “.

He also purchased some fake water which is a type of resin which you manipulate onto the scene and it dries see through.

Some items are acquired on line, some brought in HobbyCraft and bits and bobs are donated by staff. All this has been keeping Tony busy virtually every day and he has really been enjoying it.     I’m sure you’ll agree he has done a wonderful job.
