The last salon at Ivy Court

As part of our schools participation project, beauty students from Ormiston Victory Academy came to join us at Ivy Court to provide a morning of manicures, massages and nail painting. The students who came along were very professional in their purple tunics. Our female residents enjoyed a bit of pampering, and once the teapot came out there was no stopping the laughter and chat. The men were invited to get treatments too, but on this occasion they left it to the ladies.

All residents could choose the treatment they wanted, as well as selecting varnish from a wide selection of types and colours. For those that were unable to visit the temporary salon being hosted in the dementia unit, our trainee beauticians took to the bedrooms and lounges with a travel kit!

All the residents who took part in treatments expressed how much they had enjoyed it, and are looking forward to welcoming OVA students back next term for another salon morning. We’re also looking forward to building some partnerships with the other departments at the academy, and are in the process of setting a date for our rocket building day!
