Tap Dancing at Galsworthy House
Posted on Monday 1st January
Galsworthy House started the New Year in with style with entertainment from the lovely performer, Katie starting her show of with tap dancing to Supercalifragilistic.
Katie does a variety of tap dancing and singing and was back by popular request after her first solo appearance at our home went down a storm. Our residents loved watching and listening to her so she was high on the list when we asked them what type of entertainment they would like.
Katie interacts very well with her audience and also explains about the artists that she tap dances to, giving an added element to her performance.
She sang such classic songs such as ‘From a Jack to a King’ to ‘Dream Lover’. Flags were passed around so our residents could wave them about to certain songs. She sang Vera Lynn ‘We’ll Meet Again’ which is a real favourite here and our residents sang a long and clapped their hands.
This is the second time that Katie has been to Galsworthy House to perform her one woman show. As Katie was so popular on her visit we asked her to come in on New Year’s Day and what better way could we have started our New Year.
Katie ended her show dancing to Charlie Chaplin and Jim a family member of Frances, (resident) was more than happy to accompany her and what a splendid do they made.
Our residents and team cannot wait for Katie to return later in the year.
Galsworthy House provides the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 72 elderly residents. Located in a prime position on Kingston Hill, the home enjoys wonderful views over Richmond Park, the largest Royal Park in London.
