Surprise presentation for 1000th care worker to complete dementia training at Oak Manor
Caring Homes developed and rolled out its My World programme to all colleagues across all its care homes during 2015-16. Accredited by City & Guilds, the programme has received very positive feedback from the wider care industry, colleagues and the families of residents.
Caring Homes Managing Director said; “My World was created to help carers understand how those living with dementia see the world, with the intention of increasing understanding on how people can be best supported.
“The programme reassures relatives and residents that all our colleagues have clear expertise of a consistently high standard, based around best practice that has been accredited by a nationally-recognised training institution.
“It was a pleasure to make the presentation to Marlise and to recognise the fact that 1000 colleagues have now successfully completed the bronze level of our training.”
In addition to the 1000 bronze level colleagues, there have also been 84 complete the silver level of training and six the gold level to date.
Oak Manor provides specialist dementia care in a sensitively converted original building and a purpose built extension for up to 61 elderly people.
