Sundridge are visited by Pat Pony

Terry the welsh mountain pony made her first visit to Sundridge Court nursing home in Bromley this morning. Terry was accompanied by her mum Lynne, she had been up early and came in her ribbons, diamantes, with different glitter coloured hooves.

Terry is part of the new Namaste programme that Sundridge has commenced which uses sensory stimulation to help the wellbeing of our residents with dementia, more information about the Namaste programme can be found here. She stayed with us for an hour and all the residents were given the chance to get up close and personal with Terry if they wished.

Carol the Home Manager exclaimed “The expressions on the residents faces and their reaction to meeting Terry was amazing to see. Also the pony’s response to our frail residents was incredible as she seemed to sense their needs and was so gentle and loving’.

We look forward to welcoming Terry and Lynne back to Sundridge Court, thank you!
