Sundridge visit Polhill garden centre

The residents at Sundridge Court in Bromley, had a day trip out to Polhill garden centre in Badgers Mount this week.

A number of residents came on the mini bus trip including one of our new residents Brian, who enjoyed a spot of shopping.

The residents were all delighted with the wide variety of plants on display, which sparked off lots of discussion and enthusiastic plans were made for their own home gardens projects.

At Sundridge we actively encourage our residents to get involved in the garden in some shape or form, whether it’s helping plan or actually planting, it’s a fantastic way for them to look after their health and to stay busy and motivated, even for those with limited mobility or fitness. They enjoy getting outdoors and it’s a great way to get regular low impact exercise and of course have fun.

We are proud of our garden as it offers an area for reflection, relaxation, therapy, and often quite simply a space where our residents can spend time together along with their family, friends and carers in a safe and protective environment.

After a good walk around looking at the flowers, plants and tropical fish we finished the afternoon with a meal in the restaurant and all had a lovely time and they said the food was amazing!

Sundridge provides residential and nursing care in a purpose built environment for up to 28 elderly people.
