Summer BBQ at Horsell Lodge

At Horsell Lodge, we hosted a summer BBQ for the residents and relatives to enjoy on Saturday 27th August.

We were blessed with good weather, the Pimms was flowing and the kitchen did a fantastic job providing all the delicious and tasty food which everyone enjoyed.

In addition, during the two weeks of the Olympics, we held our own Olympics at Horsell Lodge including games such as skittles, boule, target games, discus, and shot put.

Fifteen of our residents overall took part and those who accumulated the most points at the end of the games were medal winners. Medals were awarded in their respective categories and they approached the games with so much passion and enthusiasm. The medals were presented at the BBQ and Gold went to Edith Clayton, Silver went to Roderick Richie and Bronze to Peggy James.

Robyn Bennett, Home Manager said:
“We all had such a fantastic time – there was so much laughter and the BBQ was a really enjoyable experience for all. It was great to welcome our friends and families into our home. In regards to the Olympics, we know our residents benefit from the physical exercise which helps with their concentration, coordination and mobility but another very important priority is having fun and enjoying the social and wellbeing benefits of being interactive with others”
