Successful Strawberry Fayre at East Hill House

Liss based East Hill House care home opened its doors to the community once more this week for the ever-popular annual Strawberry Fayre.

Despite the inclement weather, many members of the local community joined residents and staff in the picturesque gardens of the specialist dementia home to raise money for the residents’ activities fund.

There was plenty for the children of the community to enjoy with face painting, tombola, an animal farm and hook the duck. Parents and residents enjoyed a more relaxed afternoon with Angie’s Café set up on the decking to provide cakes and refreshments.

East Hill House Manager, Samantha Booty told us:
‘We are so pleased that so many people could join us once again today for our Strawberry Fayre. It is always wonderful when the community comes together to support these events and it is important to our residents that they remain an active part of the wider community.

I would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work in organising the day, everyone who attended and the local businesses that contributed. Together we raised over £300, which is a great amount towards our residents activities fund.’

Located in the peaceful village of Liss, East Hill House provides residential and specialist dementia care for up to 35 elderly people. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes. Mother and son team Helena and Paul Jeffery founded Caring Homes in 1994 and the Group has grown to become a leading independent care provider in the UK.
