Students join Mill House residents for early festive fun

The staff and residents of Mill House care home were thrilled to welcome sixth form students from the local school this week as they hosted an interactive activity session.

The Chipping Campden home maintains productive ongoing partnerships with a number of the schools in the local area and the ten students joined residents as part of their Health & Social Studies course.

The creative morning saw the students and residents join forces to craft a range of Christmas cards in preparation for the festive season, before enjoying a chat over coffee and cake.

The school sessions form a key part of the activities programme at Mill House, as Home Manager Koren Evans-Slade explained:

‘Looking around the room today, it was fantastic to see such positive social interaction between our residents and the students. We place a high emphasis on our residents playing an active role in the community, so we work hard to maintain these important partnerships.

Our residents welcome the opportunity to spend time with members of the local community, but they particularly enjoy meeting younger people as it offers a different dimension to the social activities.’
