St Wilfrids Host the Wireless on Boxing Day

On Boxing Day we were delighted to host the BBC Radio Lancashire Mike Stevens show live from the lounge at St Wilfrids. Ably led by Activities Coordinator Julie Evans, residents were full of cheer and enjoyed being interviewed by Mike. They also had the opportunity to meet other programme guests – the Vicar of Lancaster Reverend Chris Newlands, David Morris MP for Morecombe and Lunesdale, and Councillor Paul Woodruff.

Kenneth, Cora, Doris, Peggy and Joan told listeners of their wonderful Christmas Day and family visitors. Clinical Nurse Gemma, Deputy Manager Gladys and of course Julie, spoke to Mike about life at St Wilfrids during the Christmas season including the delicious Christmas Day food, five Christmas trees, plus our bespoke programme of exciting activities and entertainment throughout December.

Mike, who has visited the home before, was very complimentary about our “festive atmosphere in the beautiful historic building with its wonderful views of the Lune Valley.”
