All the Sevens at Hulcott’s Bingo in the Garden

It was ‘eyes down, look in!’ for Hulcott residents and care team with a recent outdoor session of prize bingo.

Our residents wanted to make the most of the glorious spring sunshine so we moved the activity to the garden so we could take advantage of the great weather and enjoy the fresh air.

Jennie Slade, Receptionist said:

“Bingo is one of our resident’s favourite activities as it such as fun and sociable game. It is very beneficial in that it keeps you alert as you have to be a good listener, search for numbers quickly and also encourages conversation and interaction between the players.”

Our care team also like to join in when they can and today was no exception with Roland (Domestic) and Kat (Laundry) helping out.

Due to its popularity, Bingo has become a regular activity at Hulcott and we all look forward to the next session.

In a study carried out by Southampton University, it showed that bingo players were faster and more accurate than non-players during tests designed to measure mental speed and the ability to scan for information, and memory.

All in all it was a lovely afternoon which the residents and staff enjoyed together. As we move into the summer and the weather gets better, we will be holding much more activities outside.
