Royal wedding prep at Walstead Place

The residents at Walstead Place in Haywards Heath, thoroughly enjoyed the lead up to the wedding with plenty of activities based around the preparations of all weddings.

The ladies began the run up to the big day with a Royal Wedding hen party! They visited Nymans Gardens, the beautiful National Trust home, with Chef Ingrid as the special guest as it was her birthday. The ladies wore hats and badges saying Team Bride in true hen style!

The following day the gentleman had their Royal Wedding stag do, which they decided to have in the quiet lounge. They enjoyed a ploughmans supper with wine as they reminisced about their own stag do’s, travel, and flights when they were young, and how much it has all changed!

Everyone was joined by relative Roger and his mum Rachel as they played wedding tunes on the piano, everyone thoroughly enjoyed singing along, with some getting up for a dance.

On the Big Day, everyone enjoyed gathered to watch the big day on screen, followed by a toast to the happy couple with Prosecco, and a Royal themed menu including Poached Salmon, Coronation Chicken with salad, strawberries and cream. At the end of the day the wedding cake which was baked by our chef, was cut and shared between residents, relatives and the care team.
