Right Royal Party at St Wilfrids Hall care home

Residents at St Wilfrids Hall care home near Lancaster hosted a street party on Friday 10th June, to celebrate the The Queen’s 90th birthday. The ‘Right Royal’ party was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Lancaster, Cllr. Robert Redfern and Mrs Linda Redfern.

After an old-fashioned buffet, singing groups The Gadabouts and The Hornby Singers combined to provide musical entertainment of well-known songs from the past. Relatives and families all participated and had a great afternoon. There was lots of flag-waving and The Queen herself popped up for a few photos.

Alistair Swan, Home Manager at St Wilfrids in Halton on Lune, said: “The street party was a great success. The sun came out and we were able to take everyone out to the garden, which really made their day.

“We would like to thank the Mayor and Mayoress who spent time chatting with residents, families and staff and joined in the celebrations with enthusiasm. We hope they will return soon.”

Located only two miles from Lancaster in the picturesque village of Halton-on-Lune, St Wilfrids Hall is a beautiful country house that has been sympathetically converted to provide residential and nursing care for up to 36 elderly people. This care home in Lancashire was originally built as a substantial family residence and many period features have been retained following its conversion and extension into a care home of true distinction.
