Residents celebrate World Book Day and enjoy cake decorating

3rd March 2016
On Thursday 3rd March, residents at East Hill House enjoyed a celebration of World Book Day by getting involved in a guess the book competition and talking to one another about their favourite books, both classic and modern novels.Staff got involved by dressing up as their favourite characters and getting involved in the book competition too. There was a bonus round if you could name the author, which lots of the residents enjoyed doing! Alan won first prize, Joan won second prize and Debbie came third. Those that did not win first, second or third place received a booby prize, which was a really fun touch to the afternoon. After World Book Day there was afternoon tea and cake to celebrate, some of which was decorated by residents. Fun and mess was had by all participating and everyone enjoyed the eating cakes part of the afternoon!“We really like to get our residents involved in celebrating various events throughout the year and this included World Book Day,” said Samantha Booty, Home Manager; “We have several keen readers amongst our residents and always find ways to encourage hobbies and interests. It was great so have so many staff involved in the day too.”
