Rendlesham hold successful Coats Appeal

Staff and residents at Rendlesham Care Home held a successful ‘Coats appeal’ recently for homeless people looked after by the Salvation Army.

With coats still rolling in, the home has already collected eight giant bags full of coats. Such was the response, that the home’s minibus was required to transport the mass of coats to the local branch of the Salvation Army.

It has been a busy few months for the purpose-built home, as they spent October and November raising money for the Stroke Association as part of the Caring Homes Charitable Partnership, with many homes across the group holding events to mark World Stroke Day on Monday 29th October.

Home Manager Jennie Evans told us:

‘The Salvation Army does fantastic work and we are delighted that the collection was such a success and touched by the generosity of the local community.

Raising money for vital charities such as the Salvation Army and the Stroke Association is an important part of life working for Caring Homes.’

Rendlesham Care Home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which has care homes across the UK. The purpose-built home provides nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 60 elderly people.

Paul Jeffery, Chief Executive Officer for Caring Homes, added:

“Our staff are passionate about providing support for a charities close to their hearts. Events like the recent Coats Appeal are an excellent way to raise both money and awareness for a worthy cause.”
