Rendlesham are visited by fluffy friends

Our residents at Rendlesham Care Centre in Ipswich were delighted last month when we received a visit from Wild Science. They came along to our home with some friendly reptiles and other fluffy friends.

Different animals brought different textures and personalities which the residents and team loved. We had a mixture of cute fluffy animals and silky smooth reptiles, including a Tarantula which provided a great experience. Some residents overcame the fears they once had, with one lady exclaiming ‘I don’t like snakes!’ as she grinned from ear to ear whilst holding it, and not wanting to hand it back.

Animal Therapy is an ideal way for residents who may be less mobile to interact with animals and benefit from a new and unique experience, some of the animals were also taken to rooms for those that couldn’t come to the living room.

We had a really pleasant afternoon and it was very much enjoyed by all. We are looking forward to the next visit.

Rendlesham Care Centre provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 60 elderly residents.
