Polly Raymond performs for Kippington

Singer Polly Raymond made her first appearance as an Entertainer at Kippington this week.

We invite a number of entertainers throughout the year into Kippington for the pleasure of the residents, and several return on a regular basis. An outside entertainer visits at least once a month, and we have audio-visual informative talks, animal visits, and even the occasional magician as well as the popular musicians and singers such as Polly. Kippington has a large through-lounge space that incorporates the inner foyer, conservatory, and central lounge. Our entertainers generally set up by the fireplace in the central lounge, where they can be seen from all three interconnecting areas, and there is plenty of room for all to see.

Polly sang many songs made popular by female artists known to the residents such as Vera Lynn and Connie Francis. The residents and their family visitors were encouraged to join in if they knew the songs, and some were happy to do so.

The songs stirred many memories, and cheered the residents. Following her performance, Polly spoke with the residents, many of whom expressed their appreciation of her performance.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
