New local MP visits ‘Excellent’ Marchglen Care Centre

On Friday 24 July 2015 the new local MP for Ochil and South Perthshire visited our ‘Excellent’ care home to meet staff and residents and said she was ‘very impressed’ by our home.

During the visit she was presented with a copy of Marchglen’s 2015 Care Inspectorate report, which gave an overall ‘Excellent’ rating for the service. Marchglen scored 6 (which translates as excellent) across the board in all four areas for its quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing and quality of management and leadership.

The Marchglen Care Centre report by the Care Inspectorate for Scotland stated that Marchglen ‘is an excellent service that is providing a very high standard of care and support to people with a range of complex needs and life-limiting conditions.’

The report goes on to say: ‘Care and support is well coordinated within the service and also with other involved professionals [and] people who live at the care centre told us that they thought the service and the staff who work there are excellent.’

The Care Inspectorate summary concludes that: ‘An innovative approach from all staff had led to new ideas which included further developing the role of ‘champions’ to provide specialist knowledge on key areas of care and support.’

Marchglen Care Centre provides nursing care in Fishcross, in the Alloa area of Scotland. Our home offers four dedicated houses arranged around a central day care area. With wonderful views over the Ochil Hills, Marchglen is renowned for providing excellent care in a state of the art facility.
