Moorlands Trip to All Saints Church in Lightwater

A handful of Moorlands care home residents are looking forward to their annual visit to All Saints Church in Lightwater for a short service followed by a cream tea.

All Saints Church is our local parish church and they send a group of volunteers to visit us monthly for a ‘Songs of Praise’ afternoon which the residents eagerly look forward and enjoy the chance to get together and sing. So every year in what has become a Moorlands tradition, we receive an invitation to visit them for a change!

They really look after us when we visit with a delicious selection of cakes and scones, and of course a special time to reflect and worship in a church setting with some lovely old hymns like ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Praise my Soul the King of Heaven’.

Rev Mark Wallace is the vicar at All Saints Church and he visits us at our ‘Songs of Praise’ afternoons when he can, and will also be with us at the church on the 31st August.

He has proved to be a real support to us at Moorlands when the need arises for spiritual comfort and encouragement and he has become a favourite and welcome visitor to our home.
