Miranda goes Oomph!

Residents at Miranda have recently been enjoying Oomph! wellness sessions which help them to be more mobile, more social and more alert.

Oomph! involves inclusive exercise and activity classes that improve physical mobility, social interaction and mental stimulation. Sessions are fun, inclusive and interactive which are helping residents to get moving and have fun while doing so.

The focus of sessions is familiar music, reminiscence-led imagery and sensory props which are particularly effective for people with dementia.

“Our residents are really enjoying recent Oomph! sessions which are helping them to be active and most of all, have fun” said Pat Shaw, Home Manager; “Everyone can get involved, it doesn’t matter about ability, this is a really inclusive activity which is enjoyed by so many. We always encourage friends and family to get involved too and staff also love the sessions!”

Miranda House offers specialist dementia and nursing care for up to 65 residents in the heart of the beautifully historic town of Wiltshire.
