Mill House support ‘Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning’ event

Mill House hosted a ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning‘ at our care home in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire on Friday 30th September.

This event is run by Macmillan and is their biggest fundraising event for people dealing with cancer.

Where: Mill House, Sheep Street, Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire GL55 6DR

Rob the Chef baked some scrumptious cakes early Friday morning with the help of Chris our new Kitchen Assistant. It was a lovely sunny morning and everyone was in a good mood ready for the party which started at 11am.

The lounge was decorated by Dominika, our Activity Coordinator and all the cakes were beautifully displayed on the table. They looked too good to eat but that did not stop us!

The local Marketing Manager for Macmillan, a friend of one of our residents, Rachel supported us with a lot of the themed decorations such as balloons, table clothes, banners etc, so our lounge looked very impressive.

We were delighted when a few relatives supported us and joined their loved ones for the occasion. We also had Roland who entertained us and played the keyboard with great enthusiasm. He came with his wife, which was a lovely surprise for the residents and he cheered up the room with his lovely tunes.

It was a great reason for all to come together to enjoy a coffee, catch up, have a chat and also help raise money for a great cause. All of us here at Mill House are proud to support a worthwhile organisation such as Macmillan. People all over the UK will be hosting their own coffee mornings and funds from our event will be donated so they may continue their great work providing practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.
