MAC visit Strathview

Strathview care home in Auchtermuchty, had a visit from MAC this week, who are a free service that bring art and museum collections round the county of Fife to schools, care homes and community venues. The tour the residents and care team were lucky to see was called “Moving Stories – Fife’s Great War”

Nine of our residents went into the museum bus in groups of three. Sandy enjoyed it so much he went in three times! He was in the Royal Artillary when he was younger so this experience brought back many memories for him.

The museum bus was very enjoyable for most of the residents reminiscing over the war and learning things they didn’t know. Two of the residents got a little tearful so we quickly changed tact and talked about the nicer times when the war was over.

Overall it was a very enjoyable experience for the residents, we are considering booking another MAC bus with a different subject in the near future.

Strathview provides specialist residential and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 25 elderly people.
