Love is in the air at Coxhill

To be young and in love again, a feeling we remember fondly and a feeling we got to relive at Coxhill Manor nursing home this Valentine’s Day.

Our residents welcomed singers ‘Claire and Nev’ for a Valentines Special sing a long – and enjoyed a  romantic musical trip down memory lane!

And  Magic was in the air when Dancer Simon Guntrip arrived with enticing hands and dancing feet to get the residents out of their seats and onto the dance floor. It was impossible to keep still! Dementia friend Simon showed our residents with mobility issues how to dance in their wheelchairs, embracing every single person in the room. Something special happened to our ladies & gents when they took to the floor, on foot or in chair, they seemed to dance themselves back in time and the feeling was contagious. The phrase ‘you make me feel so young,’ was waltzing, jiving & spinning around the room.

Seeing the sparkles in our residents eyes and hearing their cheers after every song, made it clearer than day that love was in the air and showed the power of dance in all its glory. Left on a high, older faces with now shining youthful glows, the proof was there for us to see, we certainly enjoyed our Valentine’s Day. Anyone fancy a song or a dance or a song?!

At Coxhill Manor care home in Woking we provide residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 58 residents.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
