Knit and Knatter at Ivy Court

At Ivy Court this afternoon we enjoyed another knitting club.

The club is growing and  this time we decided to move out of the cinema room into a bright living area overlooking the gardens. Some of the ladies needed help with starting it off but they soon remembered some of the simple patterns.

For those residents that wanted to join in with the others, but not knit, we gave them a knitted Twiddlemuff. A Twiddlemuff is a double thickness hand muff with bits and bobs attached inside and out. It is designed to provide a stimulation activity for restless hands for patients suffering from dementia. The muffs have buttons and different textures to help engage their senses.

The residents really enjoyed the afternoon, it really helps with their hand eye coordination and concentration.
