July fun at Marchglen

We have had a really busy month here at Marchglen in Fishcross. It has been filled with plenty of fun and exciting trips for our residents. At the beginning of the month we had our annual funday which was Rock & Roll themed. We invited along our residents family and friends and it was a really enjoyable day for all. There was plenty of entertainment and food for everybody and it was such a successful fundraising event that the local newspaper covered the story.  Many of our residents continued to speak about how great the event was for quite some time afterwards.

A few of our residents had asked if they could visit the Transport Museum in Glasgow. The museum provides a home for Glasgow’s transport collection and we knew this would be an exciting and educational trip for the residents. The gentleman thoroughly enjoyed the trip out and learnt so much that they came back to Marchglen and shared their day with everybody. One resident in particular was thrilled he had been to see a Ducati motorbike, which he had always wanted to.

Each of our units wanted a visit to the Safari Park this summer. There was plenty for our residents to get excited about on their visit and so much to see. Everybody had a wonderful day out looking at all of the different animals and we enjoyed a spot of lunch on site too. The weather was fantastic and the residents have not stopped asking to visit again soon.

Marchglen provides nursing care in a purpose built environment for up to 36 people in four small homes within the grounds. Each home provides different types of care and support including physical disabilities, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours in both young adults and elderly.
