Join the Macmillan coffee morning at Whittington House

Whittington House will be holding a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning annual event on Thursday 28th September.

All are welcome to pop into this impressive home by Caring Homes, at Whittington Road, Cheltenham, and enjoy a piece of homemade cake and a cup of coffee from 11am.

Whittington House nursing home is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people. The home is situated in a residential location and backs onto private woodland. Whittington House was rated as ‘Good’ overall in the latest CQC report.

Home manager Lyndsey Dixon said; “We would love to welcome people from the local community to come and see our beautiful home and to share some coffee and cake with us – raising money for a very worthy cause at the same time.”

The first ever Macmillan coffee morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective it was launched nationally the following year and since then has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan.

One in three people will face cancer, and the money raised through coffee mornings will help to make sure no one has to face it alone. Macmillan Cancer Support provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care.

Whittington House, run by Caring Homes, is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people.
