Jim Henry visits Ivy Court

Jim Henry returned this month for some festive cheer. The best thing about Jim is his will to get everyone involved! From serenading them, to getting them up for some karaoke. He’s got one of those infectious personalities which means that you just can’t help but smile and join in.

Having sung a set of Christmas songs, and a set of golden oldies, he opened the floor to suggestions and karaoke requests. He managed to get the residents and their families involved, and when our kitchen assistant, Jazmin, came around with the snacks, we were all pleasantly surprised to find out that she made an amazing duet partner – we wouldn’t let her leave to go back to the kitchen (not that she put up much fight!).

Jim had everybody engaged for over two hours, and the time just evaporated into the merriment. We will definitely be calling Jim back in the New Year for another visit, perhaps we can get him to host an open mic event for us. If you’re interested in coming along and getting involved, please contact our activities team at Ivy Court.
