Ian explores the Kingdom of Fife

Marchglen resident Ian Mackinlay enjoys car travel, short walks and piece and quiet, so with its colourful fishing villages and glorious beaches, the Kingdom of Fife seemed the perfect destination for his holiday this month.

Ian went with support on a short weekend away with staff to a cottage near Anstruther, where he enjoyed world-class fish and chips, the hospitality of one of Scotland’s oldest pubs ‘The Deel Inn’ and plenty of trips to the Fife coastline.

Determined to make the most of his weekend, Ian also squeezed in visits to the Botanical gardens in St Andrews, the Secret Bunker and also look around the fisheries museum in Anstruther.

Ian had his own room and enjoyed the picturesque views from his holiday cottage, as well as some spectacular autumn scenery on the roads in his hire car.

On his return to Marchglen, Ian put together a scrapbook with photographs and souvenirs, to show the staff and residents the story of his holiday.

Marchglen Care Home is an innovative collection of four houses providing a range of specialist care and forming a unique community on the outskirts of Fishcross.
