Hulcott residents enjoy a hair-raising Halloween

Hulcott care home with nursing was a hive of activity in the lead up to Halloween, with staff and residents busy carving pumpkins and decorating the 19th Century home with cobwebs, spiders, bats and all things spooky!

On Halloween morning, the residents all received invitations to a fancy dress party later in the day. To set the scene for the party, a short history of Halloween was narrated to the residents whilst spooky music was played in the background. The residents then set about making some delicious cakes for the party, topped with edible bats.

The residents were then invited to join in a Spooky Quiz as they competed for a mystery chocolate prize, before the judging took place for the pumpkin carving and fancy dress competitions. Everyone then tucked in to the bat cakes, washed down with some blood red ‘petrifying punch.’

Located in the peaceful village of Hulcott itself, the home is a 19th Century house providing residential and specialist nursing care for up to 38 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
