Hot air balloons at Hulcott

Residents at Hulcott in Aylesbury made some hot air balloons at our recent Arts and Crafts session. Paper Mache is simple and economical to mix up as well as apply so it makes an ideal medium for our creative activity sessions. It dries into a hard consistency and has that splendidly messy aspect which some people enjoy. Not all residents like sticky fingers however, but that did not bother Peter, one of our residents at all, and he got in the creative spirit. He thoroughly enjoyed the new experience of making papier mache and his balloon looked good enough to take to the air!

At Hulcott, we believe an active life is a happier and more fulfilling life. A key member of the care team is our Activities Coordinator, who works with each resident to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in activities that have real meaning for them. Hulcott residents are encouraged to maintain the hobbies and interests they have built up over a lifetime and to try out new experiences as and when they wish.

Our Activities Coordinator also benefits from the support of an extended network of professionals within Caring Homes. Our clinical team work with all of our Activities Coordinators to ensure activities contribute to physical and mental wellbeing, although simple enjoyment is of course the number one priority for us here at Hulcott.
