Horsell Lodge rated ‘Good’ in all areas by latest CQC report

Horsell Lodge in Surrey has been rated as ‘Good’ in all areas of its service, by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its latest report.

Jane Starr, Home Manager at Horsell Lodge, said: “We’re pleased to see so many positive comments in our CQC report; the knowledge and dedication of our staff played a big part in achieving this rating, and I’m glad to see the care we provide being recognised.

“We’re all extremely proud of our achievement, and intend to continue maintaining the high standards we have here at Horsell Lodge.”

The CQC report found Horsell Lodge to be good in all areas, making the service: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The report praised the care taking place at Horsell Lodge, saying: ‘There were enough qualified and skilled staff to meet people’s needs. Staff were recruited appropriately and had the skills and knowledge to safely care for people.’

The report went on to say: ‘People were treated with kindness and compassion and their dignity was respected. Care was centred on people’s individual needs. Staff knew people’s life histories, interests and personal preferences well.’

Horsell Lodge provides Residential and Dementia care in Woking, Surrey, located in the delightful village of Horsell.

The dementia care provided at Horsell Lodge has been designed to meet standard of the University of Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre, which is renowned as a world leader in the field of Dementia care.
