Horsell Lodge celebrate St. George’s Day

At Horsell Lodge, residents celebrated St. George’s Day, England’s patron saint with various English themed activities.

Our residents were treated to a traditional English menu throughout the day including braised steak and ale followed by apple crumble.

The residents got their baking hats on and made scones for their afternoon cream tea which were a lovely treat.

We were then entertained with a lively Pearly King, who got everyone joining in with a good old sing-a-long with classics such as ‘Knees up mother brown’ and ‘My old man’s a dustman.’

We ended the day with some more refreshments and an all things English quiz.

Robyn Bennett, Home Manager said:

“It was such a fun day and we all enjoyed the sing-a-long which brought back some happy memories for our residents and care team alike.”
